Sinbad Project (Untitled)
Basically a combination of Valley of Gwangi and One Million Years B.C, it would have given Ray an opportunity to mix Sinbad through a forgotten land populated by Dinosaurs. The script is lost or was probably was never made, the only thing that remains from this project is a sketch that Ray drew depicting a Dinosaur impaling and attacking Sinbad's men. Great idea but again there were no takers..and like most of these projects it was forgotten.
Skin and Bone
A comedy telling the story of a photographer that experiments with chemicals, one day he inhales a compound that makes his body invisible except his bones when he drinks alcohol! Strange to see that Ray would have been involved with this eccentric comedy but the character's miss-adventures is what made them think about making this a full feature film. At first it seemed that Columbia was all up for it but eventually the whole thing was canned, after the fall of Sinbad on Mars the project was mentioned again but at the time the early 80's the project seemed unsuitable for a more discerning audiences.
South American Adventure
Another attempt at the "lost valley" theme made during the time of The Elementals, this time set in the jungles of Guatemala, it tells the story of a couple who discover a tribe that worships a god similar to a Dinosaur. They learn of a valley some miles from the tribe's home and decide to visit. There they discover a valley rich and fertile with more idols, they begin their exploration and discover a cave with a huge lake of oil, from its blackness a huge allosaurus rises and running for their lives the set the lake on fire..The real reason Ray wrote the outline was to travel to South America..he never developed the idea further.
Tarzan and the Ant Men
The idea came to Ray when he was browsing thru an illustration book, the drawing and along with the idea of having Tarzan shrunk to Lilliputian size to battle an army of marauding ants seemed full of Dynamation possibilities. With the popularity of Tarzan at the time (about 1960) it seemed perfect for a successful feature film, but Ray and Charles ran in to complications when they were trying to acquire the rights from the Burroughs estate and the project faded.
The Time Machine
After the War of the Worlds project fell thru for Ray, he was looking for other stories that did not involve dinosaurs or a monster on the loose. The Time Machine seemed perfect even though the story itself was not the ideal medium for Dynmation. Ray would have animated the Morlocks and the crab-like monsters that appear when the traveler goes forward millions of years. But again the idea and the opportunity to join Ray with this story will never be seen...
To Live Forever
The step outline was originally written by Tudor Gates who offered it to Charles who in turn gave it to Ray to read. The story spoke of an subterranean civilization that were the direct descendants of the Atlanteans that live directly under the pyramids of Giza. It involved a group of international scientists which the atlanteans who them the secrets of the human race. The story itself presented little in the way of Dynamation techniques, they rejected the project and to this day Ray does not recall what became of that outline..
