How To Bridge A Gorge

 

While Ray was still working for George Pal Puppetoons he signed up for night courses in the area of a Combat Camera Man at Eastman Kodak at Columbia Studios in Los Angeles. Knowing that sooner or later he would be drafted for the second world war, In his spare time he shot the four minute film on 16mm and showed it to his teacher who showed it to Frank Capra. At the time Frank was assembling a special crew for his special service division. In the end he ended up in that service division.

 

Guadalcanal

 

Guadalcanal was Ray's attempt to show how stop-motion photography could be used for training purposes, he did most of the film on his spare time and on weekends. This short film was produced in the middle of the 1940's

 

Commercial Demo

 

Soon his post in the military was about to end so Ray decided to work on a TV commercial, he used Lucky Strike cigarettes as a sample and he produced a short 16mm film.

 

City of Lakewood

 

Ray first got involved in the Lakewood City development project in the 1950's, they approached Ray to make a series of commercials so Ray came up with Kenny Key a character shaped like a key.. The head of the Lakewood company dint really care for the cigar that Kenny had, Ray had to explain to them that it was needed for the various gestures that Kenny would do while on camera. Ray went on to produce three commercials for them. Lakewood is a city in Los Angeles, Ca.
